College reopened after Christmas holidays.



First semester B.Ed Examination held from 05-01-2017 to 11-01-2017.


First year students from Providence Women’s College (NSS Volunteers) conducted e-wallet class to the B.Ed students of our institution.


Study tour conducted to Hyderabad. 40 students and 7 staff accompanied for the 6 days programme. We visited Film City, Birla Mandir, Golconda Fort,Hussain Sagar Lake, Lumbini Park, Salarjung Museum, Macca Masjid and Charminar at Hyderabad on the way visited Sri.Radhakrishna Temple at Bangalore and shopping from Orion Mall. We came back to Calicut on 24th morning.


Republic Day celebrated. Principal hoisted the flag and gave the day’s message, speech in Malayalam by Ms.Jilsath and in Hindi by Ms.Soumya, followed by patriotic song. Mass drill was also conducted. After the vote of thanks the programme windup with National Anthem.






February 2017


Rev.Sr.Lydia A.C, General Councillor for education of Apostolic Carmel Congregation visited our institution with Rev.Sr.Rosilina A.C., our Educational Secretary. Discussion was held with the staff about the ways to improve the educational standard of our institution.


One day excursion organized for II semester B.Ed students to ‘Sargalaya Craft Village’, Iringal, Vatakara, and ‘Art Gallery’, East Hill.


Students and teachers of Physical Science and Natural Science option attended one day seminar on “Species and Home remedies” at Regional Science centre and Planetarium, Calicut.



























March 2017


Second year B.Ed students attended the UGC Sponsored seminar and career expo at Farook Training College. Some of the students got placement offer in different schools which includes Sadhbhavana World School, Floreat, M.E.S Raja Residential School, Santhinikethan, Qutar Wadi Rahma HSS, Peeves, Penu International School etc.







Women’s day was celebrated with variety programmes. The programme started with a prayer song by Ms.Dwitheeya and Ms. Greeshma, followed by welcome speech of general captain Ms.Anjana Paul. Principal precided over the function. Rev.Sr.Nirmal A.C., former Vice Principal of Providence Women’s College inaugurated the function in a creative way. Sister through her speech empowered the students to face life with

Determined determination. There was cultural programmes including recitation, solo and group song, video show on “ Be bold to Hold the World”, semi classical and cinematic dances, speech by Ms.Sithara and a drama-“ The Doll’s House”. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Reshmi Venugopal, General Secretary of the College Union.


A workshop on SUPW (making  of paper bag and paper file) was conducted for the B.Ed students by Ms.Latha and Mrs.Nisha.


One day workshop on Audio – Visual Aids was conducted for the first years by Sri.U.Kumaran, Teacher in Fine Arts, AWH TTI, Cheruvannur.


General Body meeting of PTA was conducted at 3PM. The function started with a prayer song by Ms.Indulekha and Ms.Riya John. Principal welcomed the gathering and gave an idea of the structure of B.Ed programme and course regulations. Former Principal Sr.C.K.John, our invited guest delivered a speech on “Effective parenting”. Then the staff and executive members from each class introduced themselves. There was a general discussion, the Principal and Rev.Sr.Elizabeth A.C, our administrator cleared all the doubts of the parents. Dr.Minila K.George, Asst.Professor in Physical Science delivered the vote of thanks.


A workshop on Audio- Visual Aids was conducted for the II semester B.Ed students.


Workshop on ‘Teaching Models’ was conducted for the second semester B.Ed students.


The staff greeted our Provincial Rev.Sr.Ancilla A.C, on her feast day.


Received affiliation order from University for the year 2017-2018.


College closed for summer vacation.








APRIL 2017


Principal attended a participatory programme – “Campuses of Kozhikode”’ organized by District collector at Kozhikode Collectorate. The aim of the project is to channelize the immense energy and creativity of our students to various social development programmes  of the district.


Principal attended the workshop on Campuses of Kozhikode to cover the issues related to the care of people with mental retardation, their rights and privileges, at Collectorate.


II Semester B.Ed result published. Out of 49 students 47 got first class and two second class.


The Principal and the Clerk attended a workshop for the Nodal officers regarding Centralised admission process at University of Calicut.




MAY 2017


The college re-opened after summer vacation


Principal attended the meeting on Campuses of Kozhikode to discuss Socially relevant projects for the educational institution, at the collectorate.

JUNE 2017




A resource class on Physical education was conducted by Sri. Reeju, Teacher in Physical Education at Ponoor High School.






World Environment Day was celebrated with the theme “One girl, one tree”. The saplings are sponsored by “Green Squad”. The programme was inaugurated by Sri.Sivaswami, Research Consultant.

There was a video presentation, awareness class and a poem on Environment protection was created by the students. 100 saplings were planted on the road side.



Prof.Premanandan, Dept.of English, Malabar Christian College has conducted a workshop on “Deconstructing the messages of Advertising”.



PTA executive committee meeting was at 3 pm today.


Two faculties of our institution- Mrs. Sreerekha and Mrs. Annieroopa, who are in charge of social service activities attended the sectorial workshop for ‘Campuses of Kozhikode’ programme at Collectorate, Kozhikode.


We celebrated International Yoga Day at Cholapurath AUP School and Parambil AUP School. Our students took classes about the benefits of practicing Yoga for maintaining the harmony within us. They have also given training in doing simple yoga exercises to the tender buds.

JULY 2017




Practical Examination conducted for 2015-2017 batch, under the Chairmanship of Dr.Anilkumar, N.S.S College Ottapalam. The board (VII) consisted of the Chairman and seven Examiner’s for optional subjects (two for English and two for Social Science – 13 students each). They reported good opinion about student’s performance.



Sr.Elizabeth A.C and the Principal attended NCTE meeting regarding TEI’s Accreditation at CUSAT,Kochi.



Annual Day celebrated. The function was presided over by Dr.Sr.Grace A.C, Former Vice Principal of Providence Women’s College and Provincial Counsellor.The Chief guest of the day was Sri U.K Kumaran, famous Journalist and short story writer. Annual report was presented by the Principal. Sr.Elizabeth A.C and PTA Vice President Mr.John C.U gave felicitations. There was variety of entertainment programmes by the students. Sisters from Provincial House attended our function. Farewell ceremony was held after the lunch to 2015-2017 batch students.

IVth semester B.Ed Degree Theory exams held from 26-07-2017 to Staff Council meeting held at 2.00pm.


Classes started for 2017-19 batch with fifty students.

Notification given in Manorama and Mathrubhumi daily about the vacant seat (merit quota) in mathematics.


Principal attended workshop on Academic master plan at the seminar hall of Calicut University.


Onam celebrated with variety of programmes. A flower carpet was made.There was group song, Thiruvathira, Fusion dance, different entertainment programmes and Onasadhya. A chat with Maveli was the most attraction of the day

September 2017




College reopened after Onam vacation.



Students and teacher of our institution conducted a survey of families of Malaparamba area; in order to find out socio-economic status and identify the families were visited. Identified two families who need our immediate care and assistance.



A meeting was conducted at Provincial House for Quality enhancement programme.


Revisited “Angel Cottage”, near Nethaji Nagar and gave financial support (Rs.3000/-) for the treatment of their mentally challenged child Christopher.




October 2017




As part of Gandhi Jayanthi, our students cleaned the campus. Quiz programme was conducted Sr.Preethi and Athira team got first prize.



An orientation programme was conducted by a team from Campuses of Kozhikode. The team consisted of Smt.Chandralekha, Nodal Officer, Pain and Paliative care society, Institute of Paliative Medicine, Mr.Sabith, co-ordinator, compassionate Kozhikode and Ms.Vanaja Vasudev, student mentor .



Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam, World student’s day was celebrated, organized by Science club students. Poster competition was conducted on the theme “Life and Achievements of Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam “. Vibina K and team won first prize, and second prize by Sr.Preethi and team. Video session was also conducted.


Inaugural and blessing ceremony of our newly constructed block held today. Function started at 9.30 am with Holy mass. The celebrant was Fr.Anto S.J, followed by the blessing of our institutionr.
Our Provincial Superior Rev.Dr.Sr.Ancilla A.C inaugurated the new block. The grotto of Mother Carmel was also blessed. Gifts were given to the Engineer and team of workers who helped us successfully complete the construction work. Reverent sister’s from Provincial House, Anugraha and Carmel Hill attended the function. Tea and snacks were distributed to all.


Food fest was conducted by the students with variety of homemade items. They collected Rs.3500/- for charity work.


We the students and teachers visited Institute of Paliative Medicine. There hours training in Paliative care was given by Smt.Chandralekha, Nodal officer of IPM. We have also got a chance to see the inmates at 1pm.


Centralized valuation camp started at Govt.College of Teacher Education for second semester exam. All the teachers attended the camp (from 30-10-2017 to 04-11-2017).


Student conducted survey at 8 Higher Secondary School of Kozhikode district. They also conducted survey on Learning Styles of Higher Secondary School student.




November 2017




A rememberence day of the “Human Computer” great Mathematical prodigy, late Shakuntala Devi was conducted by mathematics club, in association with her birthday. Video presentation, slide show and quiz programme was conducted. Athira E and Sr.Jismin was prizes in the quiz competition.



A demonstration class was conducted on Craft and Art work by Mrs.Rugmini S.Nair, Govt.Resource Person and specialist in Fevicryl. Mural painting, Kalamkari painting, Shelpakar and Pot painting were the attractions of the day .



As preparation for Institution day, Sr.Elizabath A.C, gave a class to our students and staff about the thoughts and works of our foundress Mother Veronica.


We celebrated the feast of our dear Sr.Elizabath with great enthusiasm. Feastal greetings were delivered by the Principal and Ms.Anju Emmanuel. Cake cutting and sweats distribution was also held.
