February 2016



Students and Staff visited Vattachira Tribal Colony, conducted surveys among the tribals and studied about their cultures, life styles, and traditions.



All the Faculties attended orientation programme for 2 year B.Ed curriculum, organized by University of Calicut.




First semester (18-02-2016 to 24-02-2016) exam from 18/02/2016 to 24/02/2016.



Annual Athletic meet conducted. Meet opend by Dr.Roy John, Asst.Professor, Govt.College of Physical Education, Kozhikode. Ms.Anju Baby won the individual championship and the Purple House won Overall championship.







March 2016



Students Initiatory School Experience at different upper primary schools of Kozhikode District, was conducted from 29.02.2016 to 04.03.2016.






4 days Residential Community Living Camp- “Feminine Spark”, was conducted from 08-03-2016 to 11-03-2016. Ms.Shamin Sebastian, Deputy Collector, Kozhikode, inaugurated the camp. Rev.Sr.Prasanthi A.C, Provincial counselor and Dr.Beena Johnson gave felicitation. Dr.Beena Johnson, Baby Memorial Hospital took a class on “The Incredible Power of Emotional Intelligence”. Students visited Meya home and Mercy home (Old age Home) and interacted with the inmates. They have done some charity work also. After the prayer session at 7 pm cultural programme and mock parliament was conducted. In the second day students visited KIRTADS at Chevarambalam. The main programme on the third day was a class on Cyber crimes “ by Mr.Aneesh Chacko, District Investigation team member, Malappuram. Camp fire was inaugurated by Rev.Sr.Jovita A.C., Educational Secretary and Apostolic Carmel Provincial Councillor and gave camp fire message. On the last day of the camp Mr.Shyju, Assistant Professor, LISSAH College, Kaithapoyil gave an interactive programme on “Life Skill Development”. The camp wind up and adjourned in the evening.



All the teachers attended centralized valuation camp at Govt. College of Teacher Education, Mananchira.



Teachers participated in the 2 day Orientation programme (B.Ed Curriculum) at University of Calicut from 29-03-2016 to 30-03-2016.




College closed for summer vacation.


May 2016


The result of B.Ed 2014-15 batch published. All the students passed the exam. Out of 99 students 96 got first class and 3 got second class.






June 2016




World Environment Day was celebrated with various programmes organized by Nature Club. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.Shanty Jose, Principal, planting a tree in the campus.
Mrs.Sree Jaya, Convener of the Nature Club gave felicitation. Video presentation on Environment protection were done by the club members. Recitation and speech was also conducted.



A workshop on ‘Improvised Teaching Aids ‘was conducted for the B.Ed students under the leadership of Sri.Kumaran, Teacher, AWH Teacher Training Institute, Kozhikode.


Demonstration classes were conducted at Providence High School Kozhikode on 14th and 15th June 2016.


Criticism classes were conducted at Providence High School Kozhikode on21st and 22nd June 2016.



Safety Riding Training for students and teachers was conducted using a two wheeler simulator by Honda Pvt. Ltd.

July 2016



Carmel day celebrated with variety of programmes. Rev.Sr.Elizabath A.C. conducted the prayer service.



Classes for B.Ed 2016-2018 batch started with an intake of 50 students.


06-08-16 World Hiroshima Day was celebrated, organized by social science club. Ms.Reshma K. won 1st prize in quiz competition.



August 2016



Holy Mass offered at our college for the success of our students and institution Rev.Fr.Emmanuel S.J celebrated the Holy mass, followed by blessing of our students, staff and institution. In the afternoon formal inaugural function of B.Ed 2016-2018 batch was conducted with variety of programmes. Rev.Sr.Roselina A.C, Provincial councilor and Educational Secretary of Apostolic Carmel Southern Province inaugurated the function. Sister suggested some creative ways to achieve the motto of our institution.



Quit India Day was celebrated at our college. Students recap the Jallian walla bagh theme skit. Patriotic song was sung by them. Ms. Seethal and Ms. Anjana won prizes in quiz competition.



Essay competition was conducted in correlation with ‘Azadi 70’ on the topic, ‘They sacrificed their life to give us freedom”.



Drawing competition was done on the theme “Life and History of Icons of Freedom Struggle”.





Independence Day celebrated at college with variety of programmes. Flag hoisting was done by
Sri.Mohanan K, Ex- Airforce officer and senior Superintendent of Passport office, Kozhikode and inaugurated the function. Principal presided over the function. Patriotic songs and Patriotic Dance were conducted.
Independence day run was conducted under the chairmanship of Mrs.Swetha Prasad, near our institution and all students were participated in it.
Candle light freedom march was also conducted in the campus in connection with “Aazadi 70”.



Internship at seven High Schools started for B.Ed students (2015-2017 batch) and will be ended by December 22nd 2016.

September 2016




A programme was conducted in connection with canonization of Mother Teresa. Sr.Soumya Joseph F.C.C. conducted prayer service. Principal delivered a talk on the selfless services of St.Theresa of Calcutta. Ms.Anjana Paul narrated the life and charismas of St Theresa. A short video was shown to the students about the teachings of the Saint.



Onam was celebrated with variety of programmes. A flower carpet was made in front of the institution. There was group song, Thiruvathira, dance, skit and onasadya. On the same day teacher’s day was also celebrated. Students honoured the teachers.



Ozone day (September 16th ) was celebrated by Science club students. Rev.Sr.Soumya Joseph gave awareness on the depletion of the Ozone layer and the solutions for preventing it. Special events were also conducted including role play. Ms.Anjali M and Ms.Anjana K won first prize in quiz competition.




October 2016



Students cleaned the classrooms and campus as part of Gandhi Jayanthi.



Two M.Ed students, Miss Ashna Baby and Miss Binila Jacob from Farook Training College, Calicut, started their internship at our institution from 05-10-2016 till 28-10-2016.




World Animal Day was celebrated by Nature Club (October 4th). Along with, wild Life conservation Day (October 6th) also was celebrated. A slide show on endangered species was shown. Students were informed about different Government agencies and NGO’S dedicated to Wild Life Conservation and about their policies. They took a vow to protect and conserve our wild life.




5 B.Ed students (Ardra Elsy Thomas, Riya John, Aiswarya V, Reni Raphel and Riya Annie Varghese)attended 3 day retreat at Providence Women’s College.




The administrator Rev.Sr.Elizabath A.C, Principal Dr.Shanty Jose, and Ashish attended the funeral function of Sr.Rosamaria A.C’s mother at Pulpally.

Study tour was conducted to Wayanad. Students of 2016-18 batch and 9 staff accompanied them. We visited Soojippara waterfalls, Edakkal Caves, and Banasura Sagar Dam.

November 2016


Kerala Piravi was celebrated in a traditional way



International Science Development and Peace Day organized by Science club. A presentation on Science Development was done by Ms.Anjana Paul. Documentary on the contributions of Nicholas tesla and Stephen Hawking was shown and Ms Rebekah Jacob explored the scientific opportunities available in the present time. The team of Aparna and Nimya won first prize in Quiz competition.



In connection with the death Anniversary of Venerated Mother Veronica, prayer service was conducted. A presentation on the life and works of Mother was done by Principal Dr.Shanty Jose and a documentary was also shown to the students.



Institution Day was celebrated. The chief guest Rev.Sr.Ashmitha A.C, Vice Principal of Providence Women’s College delivered a speech on our Foundress Mother Veronica and then conducted a prayer service quoting the words of Mother Veronica. Students presented a skit on the life of Mother Veronica slide show presentation was done by Ms. Indulekha.
